Our History

It all started with a heartfelt moment shared by a close friend. He recounted a harrowing experience of being stuck in tunnel traffic in Tokyo with his 6-month-old baby daughter. As a father, watching his baby cough and cry in distress was unbearable. He knew that if he had been aware of the poor air quality ahead, he would have taken any detour, no matter how inconvenient, to avoid that situation.

This experience struck a chord with us. We realized that countless people—families, runners, commuters, and cyclists—face similar challenges every day, often without any warning or information about the air quality around them. The lack of accessible data leaves people vulnerable to potentially harmful environments.

Motivated by this, we leveraged our expertise and team from a previous project to develop a solution. We set out to create technology that empowers people to make informed decisions, helping them avoid situations like the one our friend endured. Today, Sparrow Analytics is dedicated to providing real-time air quality data and actionable insights, so that no one has to face such uncertainty again.
